A long time ago, I went from Treviso Airport to Venice unprepared. Not knowing that this airport is quite far from the city.
But the airport is a great option! That's why I have listed the best ways for you to travel to Venice.
Read on for the different options, travel times, and prices, and easily book your transfer ticket via one of my partners.
There are various ways to travel from Treviso Airport. Here are the most popular transport options, with travel times and costs per option.
Option 1: Shuttle bus from Treviso Airport to Venice (Piazzale Roma)
One of the most convenient ways to travel to Venice is with the ATVO shuttle bus. This bus takes you to Piazzale Roma, the central bus station of Venice.
The journey takes about 70 minutes and costs €12 for a single ticket. If you buy a return ticket, you only pay €10 for the return journey.
Other bus services, such as Barzi Service and Terravision, offer faster routes, taking around 40 minutes to reach the Tronchetto car park in Venice.
Both services cost €10 for a single journey and €18 for a return ticket. The disadvantage is that you arrive at the Tronchetto with these two carriers. There you also need to have transport to get to Venice. I will explain this later.

Why choose the ATVO shuttle bus?
Traveling with Ryanair? The ATVO, Barzi, and Terravision buses are perfectly timed to Ryanair flight arrival times.
If your flight is delayed, your tickets remain valid for the next available bus. This way, you can travel from the airport to the city without any worries.
Did you know?
Option 2: The cheapest way to travel from Treviso Airport to Venice
Want to save money? Here is one that I also found very adventurous:
The cheapest option is to take the bus to Treviso Centrale train station and then the direct train to Venice Santa Lucia.
This costs only €7,70 for a single journey. The bus from the airport to Treviso costs €4,00 and the train to Venice only €3,70.
With this option, the journey takes about 60 minutes in total.
For my first time at Treviso Airport, I took this route. While most tourists choose to take the bus to Venice, I decided to do it differently. I chose a more adventurous route: the train.
To get to Treviso train station, take bus line 6. Check the departure times of bus line 6 here. Although this route is more complex than the bus directly to Venice, I deliberately chose this.
I didn't want to sit on a stuffy bus, and I can tell you that the train journey was beautiful—and quite adventurous, in retrospect.
Please note: A common mistake: There is one crucial warning: make a different difference many truthers make. Many people accidentally get off at the wrong station, 'Venezia Mestre.'
Wait patiently until the train crosses the lagoon and arrives at the final station, 'Venezia Santa Lucia.' That's where you must get off because this is where the real Venice begins.
Arrival in Venice: As soon as you get off the train, walk down the stairs, and you will be immediately at the quay, where the vaporettos (water buses) depart over the Grand Canal. Still waiting for a ticket? Buy these vaporetto tickets in advance.
It may be a longer route, but it is definitely worth it if you want to enjoy a more adventurous trip to Venice.
TIP: Although there is no direct train connection from Treviso Airport, you can easily take the bus to Treviso train station and, from there, take a train to Venice. This is a convenient and affordable option.
Option 3: Taxi from Treviso Airport to Venice | Private transfers
A taxi offers the fastest way to reach Venice. The costs vary between €90 and €110 for a ride to Piazzale Roma. This includes suitcases. You can book the taxi in advance for a fixed price. You can do this via my own portal, Taxi Booking. The journey time is approximately 35-40 minutes.
In any case, it is wonderfully comfortable to know that when you arrive at the airport in Treviso, a personal taxi driver will be waiting. You no longer have to negotiate the price.
Another luxury option is a private transfer with a connecting water taxi to your hotel, which is perfect for a romantic or memorable outing. This luxury option costs around €340 for a group of at least 2 people.
Option 4: Car rental
If you prefer to travel independently, you can rent a car. This costs around €25 per day. You can read all the details on my page about car rental in Venice. This is an ideal option if you are staying at a holiday park or campsite in the Veneto region.
Perhaps close to Lido di Jesolo, in the peninsula at Punta Sabbioni. Then, a car is essential to get there from Treviso Airport. You are friendly and accessible because you can tour through Northern Italy.
If you are already curious about the price, go directly to the rental overview at Treviso Airport.
The ATVO shuttle bus is the most convenient option for travelers who want to get to Venice quickly and directly. The bus + train option is the cheapest and ideal for budget travelers. A taxi from the airport is the fastest but most expensive option.
